The artist creates layered artworks by assembling different pop culture images. His paintings and collages offer a point of reflection upon the modern society, conveying a sense of melancholy to the viewer. Often, he represents iconic imagery in a whole new light: for example, the beloved Bugs Bunny taking an acid trip, or Albert Einstein and Obama layered in a chaotic collage made up of female bodies and dripping paint. Through his art, Erik Foss invites us to explore and re-examine pop culture and the rampant consumerism.
