Karlien De Villiers, with her bizarre characters who seem to come from the world of comics, pushes us to reflect on problems that are always present in our society with a biting irony.
In this artwork the artist presents a sort of queen, who has something tribal in her way of dressing, and who is accompanied by two skulls. Perhaps we are admiring the portrait of an illustrious ancestor, or perhaps the woman is accompanied on her way by the ancestors represented by the skulls.
