This work is part of the collection called NODUGWANA: An Ode to My Grandmother by Zana Masombuka. It is inspired by the artist's early upbringing, when she was being raised by her grandmother. It speaks to the story of a lot of African kids, whose parents had to work far away from home. Her grandmother was her first teacher on respecting the flow of life. The way she tended to her garden and all of that which sustained her, was like a dance of pure alchemy. The project highlights the different parts the artist got to experience of her.
