Achieving Angelo Maisto's watercolours, you enter in his enchanted forest, in a ''different'' world populated by absurd creatures, that float between animal and vegetal kingdoms. It is a unknown place, the one that the artist recreates, which takes time to be 'revealed' and understood. If at first glance everything look familiar, though, paying more attention, you begin to understand that it is not the case: between vegetal and animal species reproduced with worthy precision of a bestiary or of a mediaval herbarium, little monsters come alive with paws made with clothespins, with a walnut or a teaspoon instead as head, with a pendant used as a tail. They are the real key protagonists, the characters created by Maisto with forgotten and unused objects, victims of a consumerism that calls for immediate replacment that doesn't consider recycling. These creatures, reassembled, reconstructed in unusual and unexpected methods and ways, come to life and populate polished views creating a new natural order, which has been defined by the art critic Valerio Deho ''Codex Maisti'. Pipacottero, Nocino, Tè-nente, Zia Caffettina, Sentinelle and Vedette, are the results of the imagination of a nostalgic artist, who assembles objects saving them from obsolescence, in order to place them in ''His Eden'', where animal, vegetal and surreal kingdoms can coexist without being forgotten.
