Fantasy can be considered as a thin, endless line which leaves open the possibility to intersect with it – following for a while its direction –, or allowing sudden turnarounds.
This line between sleep and wakefulness, has all the wonderful, ambiguous features contained in the concept of boundary, and among all the boundaries it’s both the easiest and the trickiest to cross. But this is not the case of the artist, which adopts Fantasy as a point of view.
In the creative practice of the artists David Aaron Angeli, Bruno Fantelli, Joe Grillo, Federico Lanaro, Angelo Maisto, Andy Ness, Margherita Paoletti and Laurina Paperina a unitary Fantasy comes to life, connected to the human, animal and vegetal oneiric universe, in the form of a delicate reverie or a surreal dream. Through different styles, the artists perform an ambiguous reversal creating paradoxical meaning combinations, fluctuations and shifts, perceptive splitting.
