Biography

Born in Cles, Trentino, in 1996, Bruno Fantelli is currently attending Painting classes at Accademia di Belle Arti of Venice, where he lives and works.
Through a painting which suggests endless lists, even when the representation seems strictly limited by the picture’s frame, different elements, free from specific relationships, are collected and combined: it’s the expression of a chaotic narrative. Very often a dialogue takes place between the numbering of the characters and the interrupted shapes, remaining incomplete. These hybrid forms are suggested by the brush gesture, witnessing the odd birth of monsters, observing the story of recognizable, cited, imagined figures. Recurring fantasies loom, like struggles, attacks into the jungle, rave parties, or boat escapes. In these settings there is the description, often in blocks, of the protagonists, whose behavioral biases are dumped by humorous interference. The attention to details and the research of beauty within the elaboration/creation of the shapes, are opposed to the brutality represented in the artworks, in the same way the black tones are opposed to red, luminous and vivid ones.
