Biography
Born in 1980 in Meteor City, Arizona, currently lives and works in Virginia Beach, Va. Grillo is co-founder of the art collective Dearraindrop since 1998. Grillo has exhibited works in the US & internationally. Recent solo shows have been The Hole, New York and solo exhibition at Loyal Gallery Sweden. Group exhibitions include Cooper Cole, Toronto; Allegra LaViola Gallery, New York; CANADA gallery, New York; OHWOW, LosAngeles; V1, Copenhagen; Max Wigram, London; Peres Projects, Berlin; Andrea Melas Presents, Athens;Deitch Projects, New York and John Connelly Presents, New York.
Dearraindrop have had solo shows at V, Copenhagen; LOYAL Stockholm, Perugi, Padua; Kavi Gupta,Chicago; Deitch Projects, New York and PS1 MOMA, New York. Their work is part of the Leif Djurhuus Collection which was exhibited at the ARoS Museum in Aarhus, Dk and they’ve been in group exhibitions at The Garage Center in Moscow and MACRO Museum in Rome.

"Fuga dal Mondo dei Sogni"
From September 12th to October 12th the exhibition “Fuga dal Mondo dei Sogni” will be held at Cellar Contemporary. This is the fourth temporary exhibition curated by AFC Collective. Through the artworks by ABVA, Fresh Rucola, Joe Grillo, Pepemaniak and Softwareboy the borderline separation between reality and virtuality will be the focus of this experience.
