THE VISIONARY MANTOVA BY MARGHERITA PAOLETTI BECOMES A LIMITED EDITION PRINT

The two versions of the city’s personification, created by the artist for the urban art project “Guardami, io sono Mantova”, are now available with a limited edition of 25

Margherita Paoletti represented a personified and multifaceted city for the urban art project “Guardami, io sono Mantova”, which is a forward-looking visual map of the place, edited by Caravan SetUp, where the participating artists worked on Mantova, on its origins, views and Renaissance architecture. For the entire month of August 2020 the artists have been the protagonists of huge billboards, through digital artworks reported on advertising posters, representing each one a unique vision of the city and its history.

“Mantova distesa” and “Manto” are lyric personifications of a city and its symbols, enclosing architecture, art and nature.

Mantova lays down on the water, where its walls and its nature are reflected since ancient times. In its buildings Mantova hides the signs of great artists, treasures of another era, secretly hidden between the walls of magnificent palaces. Mantova is lying on the water looking at herself, while her reflection shows something different. Her fragile and vulnerable body is made up of leaves, plants and flowers. Nature has restart to live there again.

Manto encompasses in her shape an interplay of majestic buildings and wilderness. Free birds fly through the sky spots, taking their flight from the roofs and the trees living in that body. The silently flowing water gives birth to a flower with exotic and distant origins: the lotus. Manto, with her big shoulders, bearer of endemic wisdom, reveals her precious treasures, the life-generating earth and water.
