Starting from the series of works "Migrations", the theme of travel and discovery have always been present in the works on paper and in wax by David Aaron Angeli, which summarizes their archetypes and essential lines. The man and the sea are the protagonists of this departure into the unknown, made in the shapes of the hand and the boat.
During the journey, the animal becomes a boat from which it is not possible to escape, and yet it saves: the hand and the container, recalling the eternal life cycle, bring this concept to an extreme synthesis. David Aaron Angeli unites the object to the human figure, accentuating, through a dry figurative language, an ambivalence between bearer and carried in which the artist's interest is concentrated above all on the encounter and on the spiritual relationship that is consumed by crossing the sea.
